ZUMBA® DANCE FITNESS

Cardio interval train while we guide you through several common dance steps in combination set to musical styles and songs from around the globe. No prior dance experience needed because we give you verbal and visual clues through each set.  Also, you are welcome to preview our classes and commonly-used moves by practicing along with our eDance Zumba fitness videos and tutorials prior to attending class, if it helps you feel more confident when you come.  But this is YOUR dance party, your hour to yourself, your GIFT to yourself.  Don't overthink it; just come and dance, and leave with a sweaty smile.

ZUMBA GOLD®

Zumba Gold®  is designed with the senior in mind.  It allows you the same great workout as our regular Zumba®  cardio classes, but the moves are lower impact.  It is, therefore, great for people who are returning to exercise after a long time being sedentary or after having been cleared by their doctor to exercise after healing from injury, pregnancy, or surgery.  In Zumba Gold® , we offer suggestions for self-modification mid-set so you can continue working out at your own pace and chosen intensity level.  Some of our Zumba Gold®  participants are highly active seniors who hike mountains and build fences on the weekends, while some of our participants are cane-assisted, wheel-chair bound, or request the assistance of one of our ballet barres or walkers during class.  In this class, whatever you need in order to "do you," you do.

ZUMBA TONING® with KICKBOXING

In Zumba Toning® , we use self-applied resistance, body weight exercises, and plyometrics in a mid- or higher-impact workout to music that makes us smile while we boogie through dance combinations and push ourselves during floor work.  We perform kickboxing moves choreographed into our dance sets by our instructor who was training for her brown belt in two forms of martial arts.  (Participants also have access to our BOBs if they want to punch and kick real objects.)  This class is more physically and mentally challenging than Zumba Gold®.

InspireFItness™

TO INSPIRE :: to breathe in deeply; to motivate by example

After a particularly wonderful dance fitness class, our teacher took a deep breath in and let it out with a smile as she realized that the stress she carried in to class was not leaving with her.  She was struck with the duality of the word: "Inspire," that it refers to every person's responsibility to him or herself to take time to breathe, and each person's privilege to inspire others -- to motivate by example.  On the way home from that class, she flipped on a Christian radio station that was playing awesome hip hop songs that she realized would make fun and motivational cardio sets.  Hence, she created InspireFitness™ - a cardio dance party set to a dozen or so pop and funk songs from contemporary Christian radio.

Fierce FUNk®

During Fierce FUNk®, you'll learn one single routine throughout the class time.  Contrast that with the other cardio classes during which your teacher takes you through 15-20 songs that have different music and combinations.  Their purpose is full-body interval training, while Fierce FUNK is about steady-state exercise and conscientious breathing. But most of all, it's about having so much fun dancing that you forget you're working out.  If you've always wanted to learn how to dance, this class includes lots of popular global dance steps. As my mentor Pepper Von (fitness legend and Fierce FUNk's founder) says, "No stress. No fear.  We got this! Get fierce with it; get funky with it!

UNSURE WHICH CLASS IS BEST FOR YOU?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHOOSE BECAUSE YOU CAN TAKE THEM ALL, BUT IF YOU HAVE LIMITED TIME OR ARE STILL BUILDING YOUR STAMINA, HERE'S A BRIEF TO HELP YOU CHOOSE WHICH OF OUR CARDIO CLASSES MIGHT BE BEST FOR YOU:

If you need a more laid-back sweat session during which you can let go and forget you're working out, choose "Zumba." If you have some health concerns or physical impairments, or you're unsure what your body is capable of at this time, choose the more gentle sweat session of Zumba Gold.  If you want a hard-hitting, full-body sweat session that you'll feel a couple days later, choose Zumba Toning with kickboxing.  If you are looking for an uplifting, motivating, fast-paced, stress-relieving time to smile and sweat, InspireFitness might be for you.  Do you need a unique, single-paced cross-training class to help build endurance, or do you want to learn funky-fly flavor or practice your old school hip hop moves?  Fierce FUNk might be for you.
